1. Who is Travelport?

​

Travelport is a global technology company that powers bookings for hundreds of thousands of travel suppliers worldwide. Headquartered in the United Kingdom and operating in more than 180 countries around the world.

 

Buyers and sellers of travel are connected by our next generation marketplace, Travelport+, which simplifies how brands connect, upgrades how travel is sold, and enables modern digital retailing.

2. What is Preferred Placement?

​

  • Travelport’s Preferred Placement program is a customized marketing program created exclusively for IHG properties. Position your hotel at or near the top of travel agents’ search results (where 95% of bookings occur) while they are shopping and booking hotels in or around your city.

  • Upon enrollment, properties receive preferred placement in the Travelport Platform reaching over 200,000 high value travel buyers globally.

  • The Level Up package is an upgrade to the Preferred Placement Program providing additional marketing opportunities.

3. How do I join Preferred Placement?

​

  • For new participant enrollment, please complete the Opt-in form online. After completing the Opt-in form you will automatically receive a confirmation email. No further action is needed.

  • Enrollment cost is $2,750 USD for a 12-month term beginning September 1st, ending August 31st the following year.

  • For current participants, your hotel is automatically enrolled every year. There is no need to complete the online Opt-in form.

4. My hotel did not join on time. Can my property still participate?

​

Yes! Your hotel can still enroll for the remaining months of the current program term.

See “How do I Join Preferred Placement” above to complete the online form. A confirmation email will be sent upon enrollment.

5. How is availability display sorted?

​

Hotels that participate in the Preferred Placement program rotate amongst their peers every 60 seconds above non-preferred placement hotels on any applicable search criteria.

​

Your hotel will display at or near the top of the search results based on the city name, airport code, or reference point and other search criteria input by travel agents. (i.e. chain code, distance, CORP rate access codes).

​

6. With Preferred Placement, will my hotel always appear on the display?

​

Travelport qualifies properties based on the travel agents’ search criteria. It will then display preferred placement participants at or near the top of the search results first, then the non-preferred placement hotels display at the bottom.

7. What is the Preferred Placement Level Up option?

​

The Level Up option provides additional targeted banner advertising. For a flat rate $1,200 USD your hotel receives graphical and textual banner ads on air, car, and hotel search and sign-on screens.

​

Travelport creative services for the creation of graphical banners ads are available for an additional $400 fee.

​

If you decide to Level Up, the $1,200 additional charges will be invoiced by Travelport.

​

8. How do I Opt-out of Preferred Placement?

​

Thirty (30) days prior to the start of each program year on September 1st, you can Opt-out by completing the online Opt-out Form

​

If Opting-out after the program year has already started on September 1st, you will be Opted-out of the following year’s program.

 

There are no prorations when opting - out prior to the end of the 12-month subscription period.

​

9. How will my hotel be billed?

 

Hotels are billed the annual rate for the Preferred Placement Program year via IHG Commission Services.  The invoice will reflect a line item named “Travelport Digital Media Program”. Rate is non-refundable.

​

10. Where and when can I get my Preferred Placement ROI reports?

​

Travelport produces automated reports on a monthly basis. Reports will be automatically sent to the email address specified on the Travelport Preferred Placement Opt-In form.
